Andrew Gordon Gobczynski, the son of Leon and Rebecca and twin brother of Stephanie, was born on September 24, 1981 and died December 8, 2014. Andrew and Stephanie were born in St. Brieuc, France during Leon's professional basketball career. They moved back to the USA when the twins were 3.

Andrew was an agile athlete from an early age, playing basketball, baseball, and soccer and winning countless awards and trophies. While attending Teutopolis High School, Andrew played for the legendary Coach Ken Crawford, and his basketball teammates made two state tournament appearances. During the Illinois State Championship in 2000, Andrew earned All-State honors.

Andrew earned a full athletic scholarship to Eastern Illinois University, where he played basketball for four-years under Coach Rick Samuels. In 2001, Andrew's EIU team made the NCAA Tournament. He was a team captain his senior year.

After graduatting from EIU in 2005, Andrew moved to St. Louis to begin his business career. In 2010, he married Priya Soni. Their daughter, Shreya, was born a day before Andrew's birthday in 2011, and Andrew Jai, their son, was born July 12, 2014. Andrew was a State Farm insurance agent in Wood River, like his father in Effingham, Illinois.

Andrew will be remembered for his gregarious personality and his humor that always brought smiles to the faces of others.
